The Duncan Rhodes Painting Academy ‘Two Thin Coats’ Paint Range is a range of paints developed from the ground up with some of the best paint development chemists in the world. These are not paints we just bought off the shelf and bottled.
We developed each colour to meet our high standards of what we thought a miniature paint should be. We have been working in partnership with Trans Atlantis Games to create a set of paints that would be useful to any level of hobbyist. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned painter, we believe that you’ll find using these paints an absolute joy to use! We are both extremely excited for hobbyists around the world to get their hands on these paints and to give them a whirl…or to apply two thin coats!
What colours are in the range?
We currently have 120 colours in the range including a wide variety of top quality metallic paints, washes and ‘normal’ acrylics. We also have added some ‘Brights’ which are excellent for adding that final highlight to make your miniature pop as well as a set of glazes to help add a ‘colour filter’ to your miniatures. Of course. all these paints can be used for a wide variety of techniques to get your miniature looking amazing on the tabletop or your display cabinet. And yes, they are perfect for airbrush use too. We have designed these, including most of the the metallics, as a triad system.
That means we start off with your Shadow colour, then your Mid-tone and finally your Highlight. Of course, you can use them however you see fit and change them around according to your style and taste.
